Anyway, Jo loved the typeface I made, she said it perfectly encompassed the feltmakers and what they are trying to be with the organic hand made type which doesn't look computer made yet is. Although this is good that she loves it, she loves it a little too much, as such she made some suggestion about the logo pictogram...
she basically wants it to be of less importance to logo, which I'm not sure about, she did the second black one below.
She stated that the border around it made the shape 'too busy' which I don't know if I agree with. Anyway, there 3 options I was thinking we should submit to the feltmakers and just let them choose. Will delay getting the stamp BUT we still have plenty of time, we could get test prints of other stamps to see what it'd look like on different card if you wanted to do something whilst we get a reply.
Anyway, thoughts?

in terms of the pictogram.... i can kinda understand where she is coming from. but i am not really a fan of the bottom one where it is really small.... it looks like 2 hypnotised eyes with angry eyebrows sweating.
the blacked out shield shape again gives it too bold a look and... well personally i think it makes it stand out more....
i can understand her saying the border makes the shape too busy but in isolation it would look fine... so i duno. yea i guess just let the feltmakers decide and we run with that.
the other thing is i prob don't wanna say too much about any other group's stuff seeing as this blog is public and very easily accessed (as jesse so pointed out by typing out our class! haha) but either way, woot we have it in the bag!
i agree we going to need to wait till the feltmakers decide before making stamps perhaps we could start thinking about things like the newsletters and websites?
Yep we can move onto those for sure. We'll have to decide next course of action on monday I guess. But I think it's kinda smooth sailing from here.
ReplyDeleteThe rapidshare is the .ai file so you can send it to the feltmakers yourself annie after putting it in blackout format, maybe ask if she could send it onto the other feltmakers to get an opinion and that we will wait til say thursday to get whichever one is wanted sent to the stamp people. So by friday we can make some stamps, and then by monday have it for presentation.

They are as final as they can get I think but feel free to alter them or come up with others to send, maybe tweak the bottom smallest one, I think that one needs to be rethought it just didn't look right small and like that.
ReplyDeleteUltimately I want the client just to choose the original design which I really think they will.
Just pitch it as here are 3 final options from most ornate to least, and that we just wanted them to have a say. And ask for feed back if there is anything they'd like changed.

ReplyDeleteShowed them to Kate, she liked the second big one the most, on black, she thinks it needs to be big but she likes the boldness of the black with white in it, I'm not sure how well it looks on it's on but.

they do have alternatives but something as big as a border and no border won't really have alternatives, at most the whole thing would be white or black. According.

ReplyDeletein it, i said that any changes to it needs to be communicated by wed 26th and the final decision needs to be by the thurs 27th.
also told them that the typeface is made jst for them etc
and the variations.... i explained those.
also looking at them in the pdf...
the black one actally isnt so bad. its growing on me :p
